onero

web and mobile app to find roomies

Onero has been designed for users that need to share a flat and want to do it in the safest way. This app achieves this goal by using personality and interests compatibility patterns that allow choosing the perfect roomie.

UI DESIGN

01 research.

Before starting with the design, I analyzed different web pages that allowed me to create a Benchmark to understand how competitors work and how to outstand from them. I did interviews that gave me an overall of the different user personas and the real problems that they were facing. This helped me to create the right solution with a nice visual touch.

user personas

  • Ramiro, 18

OBJECTIVES: became independent, get new friends, grow personal and professionally.

FEARS: to take many buses in order to get to the university, live with a lazy and messy person, and not having shops and supermarkets near his flat.

  • Victoria, 28

OBJECTIVES: graduate from law university before turning 30 and grow professionally.

FEARS: rent her spare room to a complete stranger that would not comply with the coexistence rules, and spending too much time searching for the right person.

  • Sergio, 23

OBJECTIVES: graduate as soon as possible, start becoming independent and get the opportunity to study with friends in his new home.

FEARS: get a noisy and rude roomie who doesn’t allow pets, and to get a flat far away from university.

02 architecture.

Based in users current needs and preferences, I organized an intuitive and practical navigation flow, taking into account the users goals.

This was summarized in a site map and user flows.

03 Ui design

Once the concept was defined and the user flows developed, the name came up and an inspirational moodboard was created in order to give the youth identity the web needed to get the correct impact and experience on users.

name

Onero was born as an analogy to ovenbirds (“hornero” in Spanish), hence its name. Furthermore, like these birds, Onero seeks to expand throughout Argentina, and like the hosts of a shared apartment, they make their nest, their home, their room available to those who wish to spread their wings toward new experiences.
